Instead of outright banning the artwork and replacing it fully, as they would with the Misty's Tears and Sabrina's Gaze cards from the Gym expansions that would follow (with the former being banned for for very compelling reasons ), they instead banned just one aspect of the Grimer artwork
It mainly relies on the Rokket and Borrel archetypes, as well as some support cards for light and dark attributes
As well as designing the card, Gressle was invited to tour the companys New York City headquarters, meet card artists and some of the voice actors behind the anime, and see the card being produced
Overall, this is one of my favorite Secret Lairs coming out of Magic: The Gathering lately, and I hope the game's future Marvel cards continue this trend of flavorful design
