That is normally a criteria by which I will permit gold cards into the cube but I think the gains from Helix are so marginal on average that it would be like running Oboro, Palace in the Clouds in the cube
For starters, it's quite possibly the biggest crossover that Magic: The Gathering has ever seen, but the increased price compared to similar sets would have contributed too, as fans were upset upon discovering that the Final Fantasy set is priced closer to premium products, despite being Standard-legal
Obviously these cards were printed months in advance in time for shipping and logistics, sheet cutting, placing into packs / stater decks, ink testing etc
