The "sacrifice a creature" cost makes it a bad fit for combo decks which tend to be light on expendable creatures, but it's still positively broken in control & aggro decks, and players using the Threshold mechanic can feed 'fodder' creatures into their graveyard to accelerate their activation of Threshold
