There is no indication that this rod has ever been cast
The grip has a good amount of hand soiling but the ferrule fits are excellent and I can find no problems in the varnish
There's a "4" stamped into both males and the female ferrule

Serial no. E 76 1, made in 1961. The rod is in near mint restored condition with one exception. One of the tips was impacted during shipping and there was some resultant splintering of the cane between the last snake guide and the tip top. Mark Canfield was able to re assemble this piece by piece and place a thin protective wrap over this area.
