As you get towards to more control style of deck the types of thing you want are more numerous

Since it's an instant, you simply pass your turn, wait until your opponent's upkeep, and then cast it, which is very close to getting an extra turn (the main difference is that your opponent will get to untap)

and power can be upped when you attack with various technique cards (abilities/tricks) and reinforcements which you can bring in from your hand
