I would perhaps recommend making the ATK boost last until the End Phase, or making the ATK boost permanent, but only equal to the ATK of the banished Space Mermaid (or perhaps half of it, because even then, a Level 2 able to suddenly jump to 2200+ ATK on summon is concerning)
We can Gush for free from the top to break the pile, or just Finale of Devastation X=2 for Thoracle, leaving 3 cards left exactly (Glarb can surveil 2 more if we need to)
Aside from synergizing with its Commander deck's featured commander card, it can also work with other commanders counting +1/+1 counters, such as Animar, Soul of Elements
